The Annual Blessing of the Fleet in Darien, Georgia, will take place in historic downtown Darien. There will be something for everyone...a street parade (Sat 10a), scrumptious food offerings and lots of vendor booths (open Fri 5-10p; Sat 10-10), Art in the Park (sat-Sun), 5K Darien River Run/Walk (Sat 8a), Classic Car Show (Sat 11a), Shrimpbox Derby (Sat 2p), Shrimp Eating Contest (Sat 5p), helicopter rides, fireworks, and the largest Shrimp Fleet Parade in the USA (Sun 2p). Top-notch entertainment starts Friday with Rhett Akins. Saturday brings The Tams to the stage at 7p with a grand fireworks display at 9p.
Admission is $5 for age 13 and up. Twelve and under are admitted free with a paying adult.
